  • Staff Member Receives Prestigious Genevieve Overman Memorial Service Award

    Thompson School District staff member Kelley Parkhurst, Spanish Curriculum Liaison, has been named as the recipient of the Genevieve Overman Memorial Service Award by the Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers (CCFLT). She will be recognized at their spring conference. The Genevieve Overman Memorial Service Award honors a CCFLT member for lengthy and dedicated service to the world language profession and to the CCFLT for the following criteria: Outstanding evidence of leadership within the CCFLT and Colorado world language communities; significant evidence of service to the CCFLT; and significant evidence of mentorship to students, colleagues and CCFLT members.

  • TSD Students Named as Boettcher Scholarship Finalists

    Four Loveland High School students—Daniel Lange, Delaney McNally, Iain Magruder and Jordan Reichhardt—have been named as finalists for the Boettcher Scholarship. The Boettcher Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition and partial living expenses merit-based academic scholarship awarded to graduating Colorado high school students. Award recipients, on average, rank in the top 2% of their graduating class and have an average SAT score of about 1400.

  • TSD Students Named as Daniels Scholarship Finalists

    Eliana Paradise, Berthoud High School, and Megan Lindsey, Loveland High School, have been named as finalists for the Daniels Scholarship. Finalists are invited to participate in a personal interview, which will be conducted online by community leaders.

    The Daniels Scholarship Program offers a comprehensive, four-year college scholarship that provides financial and personal support focused on helping Daniels Scholars succeed in college and in life. The Daniels Scholarship can be used at any accredited nonprofit college or university in the United States.

  • LHS Student Earns Silver Congressional Award Medal

    Loveland High School freshman Egan Bauersfeld earned a silver Congressional Award medal. He previously earned the bronze medal and now has set his sights on gold. In order to achieve the silver medal, Bauersfeld was required to perform 200 hours of public service as well as invest 100 hours each in physical fitness and personal development. The final requirement was a two-night, three-day exploration trip. Similar requirements applied to the bronze medal. The gold medal requires twice as many hours of each requirement. The Congressional Award program is open to anyone starting at age 13½, and they have until age 24 to complete the gold medal requirements. About 500 gold medals are awarded nationwide each year.

  • LHS Students Chosen as Coca-Cola Scholarship Semifinalists

    Loveland High School seniors Megan Lindsey and Jordan Reichhardt have been selected as semifinalists for the Coca-Cola Scholarship. Only 1,609 semifinalists were chosen from 99,403 applicants this year. They were selected based on their outstanding leadership, academic achievements and dedication to their community.

  • MVHS Service Projects Chosen for Implementation

    Each seminar class in Mountain View High School’s Freshman Academy Program was challenged with developing a service project idea that benefits the school or community which could then be completed together by all 14 classes. A panel judged and scored the project presentations. The three projects selected to be implemented were: “Together at our Table” by Ms. Anderton’s group, Mycr0 M1ndZz; “Positivity Mural” by Mr. Mayes group, The Mayes Machine; and “Quiet Cupid Surprise” by Ms. Balliet’s group, The Balliet Bunch.

  • LHS Wins State Football Championship

    Loveland High School won the Class 4A State Football Championship. LHS, the No. 4 seed, defeated No. 2 seeded Palmer Ridge 42-6 in the state final at Colorado State University-Pueblo’s stadium in Pueblo. This is the program’s eighth state title and the second in three seasons.

  • MVHS Assistant Principal Named 2021 Secondary School Assistant Principal of the Year

    The Colorado Association of School Executives (CASE) named Mountain View High School assistant principal Don Kotnik as the 2021 Secondary School Assistant Principal of the Year for Colorado. Kotnik was selected by a committee of his peers through a highly competitive process facilitated by the Colorado Association of Secondary School Principals (CASSP), a department of CASE and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP). Kotnik will be recognized at the 2021 CASE Awards Reception. He will also represent Colorado at the NASSP National Principals Conference in the summer.
