  • TSD Students Receive Outstanding Colorado Student Awards

    Thompson School District students Chloe Vair, Loveland High School, and Christina Lucas, Thompson Valley High School, received Outstanding Colorado Student Awards at the University of Colorado Boulder’s Outstanding Colorado Student and Educator Awards Night. The award recognizes juniors who have exemplified academic excellence, leadership and school and community service. Each received a $4,000 scholarship to attend the University of Colorado Boulder.

  • LHS Doubles Team Medals at State Tennis Tournament

    Loveland High School’s doubles team Rebecca Emme and Allison Westbrook took 3rd place at the girls 4A State Tennis Tournament.

  • MVHS Students Excel at ProStart Gala

    Mountain View High School students Evyn Batie, Mario Flores, Mary Hooper and Darian Mahon served small bites at the ProStart Gala in Denver. They prepared gazpacho shooters with a selection of peppers and sauce to complement them and served approximately 150 people at the event. Mario Flores won a $1,000 scholarship and Evyn Batie won ProStart Student of the Year. Their mentor, Chef Robert Batie, is the Executive Chef at the Hilton in Fort Collins.

  • Students Named as Daniels Scholars

    Thompson School District students Alexander Paradise, Berthoud High School, and Brandon Lindsey, Loveland High School, were named to the 2018 class of Daniels Scholars. The Daniels Scholarship Program provides a four-year annually-renewable college scholarship for graduating high school seniors in Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming who demonstrate exceptional character, leadership, and a commitment to serving their communities.

  • Elementary Schools Receive Schools on the Move 5210 Challenge Awards

    Thompson elementary schools received a total of $6,900 in prize money in the Schools on the Move 5210 Challenge, an annual program sponsored by UC Health’s Healthy Kids Club. Students, staff and families tracked activity minutes and other healthy habits throughout the challenge. The awards are to be used for physical education equipment or other school wellness initiatives. In the large school category, winners included Ponderosa, Centennial, Berthoud and Cottonwood Plains. In the small school category, winners included Laurene Edmondson, Garfield, Big Thompson, B.F. Kitchen, Carrie Martin and Ivy Stockwell. Additional awards went to B.F. Kitchen in the staff participation category and Cottonwood Plains in the family participation category.

  • MVHS Students Place at National Photographic Society of America Competition

    Mountain View High School Students competed in the National Photographic Society of America competition. In Print, Ethan Sayers received 3rd place for “Wonder” and Acceptances went to Talon Gaghon, “Old Sugar Mill,” and Abigail O’Donnell, “Jokvisarion Lagoon.” In Digital, Laurel Ave received 2nd place for “Kaleidoscope,” Talon Gagnon received Honorable Mention for “A Long Spring,” and Acceptances went to Zach Strom, “Love of the Game.”

  • LHS Students Place in SkillsUSA Competition

    Loveland High School Project Design Team students competed in the SkillsUSA competition in Colorado Springs. Fourteen students qualified for nationals, which will be held in Louisville, Kentucky. Gold medal recipients were: Kiron Blazik, Jennea Marshall, Yashvi Naik and Megan Wills in Entrepreneurship; Cody Stecklein, Hailey Pritchard, Jacklen Carr, Jaiden Lussier and Sora Lenz in Quiz Bowl; Hayley Hansen, Garrett Sollin and Brittany Martinko in Community Service; Pratik Patel in Related Technical Math; and Megan Wills in Customer Service. Silver medal recipients were Elaina Martain in Customer Service; Haley Pritchard in Facilithon; and Garret Sollin in Pen Design. Bronze medal recipients were: Jaiden Lussier in Facilithon; Elaina Martain, Garret Sollin, Jacob Sloat, Protik Patel and Megan Wills in Quiz Bowl; Brittany Martinko in Customer Service; Haley Pritchard in Related Technical Math; and Angel Valle Gaytan in Pen Design. New SkillsUSA state officers are Jennea Marshall and Lexis Micheal. SkillsUSA is a national membership association serving middle school, high school and college students who are preparing for careers in trade, technical and skilled service occupations, including health occupations, and for further education.

     Thompson School District students won awards at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) state conference. Loveland High School student Mikayla Pennock received a Gold Medal and Chloe Sewell, Aiyanna Schwartz and Sora Lenz received Bronze Medals. The LHS advisor is Samantha Morris. Berthoud High School students Faith Cushman, Eric Godfrey and Callie Hartel received Silver Medals and Logan Kilgroe and Hannah Roberts received Bronze Medals. The BHS advisor is Amber Wharton. Mountain View High School students Karmin Whipple and Brooklynn Guinto received Gold Medals and Audrey Montes, John Moser, Hagan Kipsey, Lindsey Wade, Evyn Batie, Savannah Schlenke, Katlynn Garcia, Alyssa Morton and Arianna Renshaw received Silver Medals. The MVHS advisors are Gretchen Dekkers and Kristie Livermore.

  • TSD Students Qualify for FBLA National Leadership Conference

    Thompson School District students Adrian Reghitto and Zach Ballinger placed at the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) state competition in Vail and qualified for the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Baltimore, MD. Reghitto took 1st place in Computer Problem Solving and Ballinger took 4th place in Database Management. Honorable mentions went to Zidane Markey, who placed 7th in Computer Problem Solving, and Ben Marquardt, who placed 6th in Business Calculations.

  • MVHS Student Earns Appointment to US Air Force Academy

    Mountain View High School senior Shane Lindsay earned an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. He will be accepting his appointment to the academy to study aerospace engineering.
