  • TSD Wrestlers Place at State Championship

    Several Thompson School District wrestlers placed at the 2022 Boys State Wrestling Championship at Ball Arena in Denver.

    In the 3A Division:

    n

    Berthoud High School – Wil Moneypenny placed 3rd in the 145-pound bracket.

    In the 4A Division:

    n

    Loveland High School – Kobi Johnson took 1st place in the 120-pound bracket; Mason Moskalski placed 5th in the 160-pound bracket; Isaac Padgett placed 6th in the 145-pound bracket; and Jude Quinlan placed 6th in the 170-pound bracket.

    Mountain View High School – Isaiah Harrison placed 5th in the 106-pound bracket and Issac Muller placed 6th in the 182-pound bracket.

    n

    Thompson Valley High School – Jackzen Rairdon took 1st place in the 113-pound bracket; Titus Juergensen placed 4th in the 132-pound bracket; and Ronan Bittner placed 4th in the 195-pound bracket.

  • LHS Girls Wrestling Team/Individuals Place at State Championship

    The Loveland High School girls wrestling team took second place at the 2022 Girls State Wrestling Championship at Ball Arena in Denver. The individual results were as follows: Morgan Johnson took 1st place in the 105-pound bracket; Sierra Lynne Moskalski placed 3rd in the 127-pound bracket; Kim Carlin placed 3rd in the 161-pound bracket; and Kelly Clingan placed 5th in the 111-pound bracket. In total, LHS had an overall record of 18-4 at the state tournament.

  • LEMS Teacher Receives WOW Travel Grant

    Nick Divine, 7th grade Individuals and Societies teacher at Lucile Erwin Middle School, was awarded the 2022 Windows on the World (WOW) Travel Grant by Thompson Education Foundation. The WOW Travel Grant provides a teacher with $3,500 to complete an educational travel experience to a domestic or international destination, allowing the teacher to experience a learning opportunity in another country or culture and to bring their new knowledge back to students and other educators in the district. Travel must be completed over the summer break. Divine will travel to Spain, Portugal and Morocco.

  • TSD Receives Emergency Connectivity Fund Grant

    Thompson School District received a $520,833 grant from the Emergency Connectivity Fund, which is part of the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The purpose of the fund is to help replace obsolete student devices such as iPads and Chromebooks that are nearing the end of their lifespan.

  • McKee Wellness Foundation Gives Wellness Grants to TSD Schools

    The McKee Wellness Foundation distributed $24,000 in wellness grants to Thompson School District schools from their Heart Health program. Schools who had community participation in the Loveland Turkey Trot received a grant to support various wellness initiatives at their site. This year, TSD had 471 participants take part in the local race. Schools will utilize funding for needs such as replacing worn recess equipment, revitalizing school gardens and supporting running clubs.

  • LHS Students Named as Daniels Semifinalists

    Loveland High School students Aaron Koso and Nelly Mulenga have been named as Daniels Scholarship Semifinalists. The Daniels Scholarship Program offers a comprehensive, four-year college scholarship that provides financial and personal support focused on helping Daniels Scholars succeed in college and in life. The Daniels Scholarship can be used at any accredited nonprofit college or university in the United States.

  • District Receives NATOA Award

    In partnership with Loveland Pulse, Thompson School District won a national award for a project to help close the digital divide for our students by building the infrastructure needed to connect the communities of Lago Vista and Drake to broadband internet. The “Community Broadband and Digital Equity Award” was presented by the National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA).

  • TVHS Student Named as a Boettcher Finalist

    Thompson Valley High School student Kelly Clingan has been named as a Boettcher Scholarship Finalist. The Boettcher Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition and partial living expenses merit-based academic scholarship awarded to graduating Colorado high school students. Award recipients, on average, rank in the top 2% of their graduating class and have an average SAT score of about 1400.

  • Students Excel at TSD Spelling Bee

    The following students were the top spellers at Thompson School District’s 25th Annual Spelling Bee for elementary and middle school students. Elementary School: 1st – Zakary Cavanagh, Big Thompson Elementary School; 2nd – Evan Chang, Loveland Classical Schools; and 3rd – Parker Steele, Centennial Elementary School. Middle School: 1st – Ally Harris, Loveland Classical Schools; 2nd – Ady Willcutts, Loveland Classical Schools; and 3rd – Zoey Zhou, Walt Clark Middle School.
