  • TVHS Wins 4A Regional Wrestling Title

    The Thompson Valley High School Wrestling team won the 4A Region 4 team title. Twelve wrestlers placed and seven are heading to the state tournament. Mountain View High School and Loveland High School also have wrestlers heading to the state competition.

  • BHS Wins 3A Regional Wrestling Title

    The Berthoud High School Wrestling team won the 3A Region 2 team title. Ten wrestlers placed and eight are heading to the state tournament.

  • Coyote Ridge Teacher Receives Culturally & Linguistically Diverse Education Innovation Grant

    Lindsay Cook, kindergarten teacher at Coyote Ridge Elementary School, was awarded a 2018-2019 Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education (CLDE) Innovation Grant for her “Windows and Mirrors” project. She received $750 to diversify her classroom library.

  • Ivy Stockwell Receives Larimer County Department of Natural Resources Grant

    Ivy Stockwell Elementary School’s outdoor classroom is one of eight projects to receive a grant from the Larimer County Department of Natural Resources’ Small Grants for Community Partnering program in 2019. The Parent Teacher Organization at Ivy Stockwell received $2,024 for meadow installation, the fourth phase of the outdoor classroom at the school. Students, teachers and community members built the classroom as a place for students to learn outdoors. Classes at the school can access the outdoor space for a variety of lessons, from math to science to language arts, and students and parents tend the gardens and landscaping.

  • BHS Swimmer Places at 3A State Championship

    Berthoud High School’s Jamie Dellwardt took 2nd place in the 100-yard backstroke at the 3A State Girls Swimming & Diving Championships in Fort Collins with a time of 58.21. She also took 3rd place in the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:12.06.

  • LHS Swimmers Place at 4A State Championship

    Loveland High School’s Erin Lang won the 500-yard freestyle for the third consecutive year at the 4A State Girls Swimming & Diving Championships in Thornton with a school-record time of 4:58.35. She also took 1st place in the 200-yard freestyle with a school-record time of 1:52.15. LHS’s Ashley Peet took 2nd place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:04.71. The LHS 200-yard medley relay team, consisting of Lang, Peet, Jordan Reichhardt and Adley Morrison, placed 3rd with a school-record and city-record time of 1:47.82.

  • BHS Girls Swimming & Diving Team Wins Tri-Valley Conference Title

    In their first year of existence, the Berthoud High School Girls Swimming and Diving team won the Tri-Valley Conference title. BHS accumulated 390 team points, well ahead of 2nd place Eaton’s 226, in the six-team conference meet in Loveland. Individual titles went to Jamie Dellwardt, who took 1st place in the 100-yard backstroke and 200-yard individual medley, Abby Dodd, who took 1st place in the 50-yard and 500-yard freestyle races, and Sarah McCormick, who won the one-meter diving competition.

  • TSD Staff to Receive Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers Awards

    Thompson School District staff members Jodi Moorcroft and Yesenia Perez will receive awards at the Colorado Congress of Foreign Language Teachers (CCFLT) Spring Conference in Denver. Moorcroft, who teaches Spanish at Mountain View High School, will receive the CCFLT Excellence in Teaching Award. Perez, who teaches 3rd grade at Cottonwood Plains Elementary School, will receive the Kris Wells Memorial Creativity Award.

  • MVHS Teams Place at High School Model UN Conference

    Six teams from Mountain View High School competed in the CU-Boulder High School Model UN Conference. This was the second conference of the year, but the students’ first at the collegiate level. Three teams placed: Aly Buckner and Eloise Nelson – Distinguished Delegate (2nd place); Wyatt Suite and Tasha Reichhardt – Best Position Paper; and Audrey Vanderpool and Carson Boman – Honorable Mention (3rd place).

  • LHS Junior Named High School Softball Player of the Year

    Loveland High School junior Laurin Krings was named High School Softball Player of the Year by Sportswomen of Colorado. She will be honored at the group’s 45th awards banquet at the Denver Marriott Tech Center. Krings led the state in strikeouts with 392, won 22 games and posted an ERA of 0.65. She also paced the state in home runs, hitting 15 on the season while batting .500 with 48 RBI.
