LHS Robotics Class Pays it Forward with OtterCares Foundation Grant

Michael Pintaric’s robotics class at Loveland High School received a $9,000 grant from OtterCares Foundation for six 3D printers; one for each of the six elementary schools in LHS’s feeder system. By the end of the year, Lincoln, Coyote Ridge, Laurene Edmondson, Ponderosa, Centennial and Cottonwood Plains elementary schools will receive a new 3D printer from the LHS students. The LulzBot printers will be customized for each elementary school—the LHS students will use their school’s 3D printers to create some of the parts and pieces in the elementary school’s colors and create a safety cover box that will keep the elementary students safe from hot pieces. Once the LHS students deliver the printers, they will help train the elementary school teachers on the technology and work with the younger students.
