Staff Recognized at 18th Annual Crystal Apple Awards Ceremony

Staff members were recognized at Thompson Education Association’s 18th Annual Crystal Apple Awards ceremony. Crystal Apples are awarded to association teachers in recognition of their leadership, classroom contributions, success in meeting the needs of diverse leaders and involvement in the association. Stacy Libal, who teaches GT students at Mary Blair and B.F. Kitchen elementary schools, was named overall winner among elementary school teachers for supervising a mentor program that pairs GT students with adults to discover possible careers. Berthoud High School Family & Consumer Sciences teacher Amber Wharton was named overall winner among secondary school teachers for her efforts in developing her students’ expertise and interest in the culinary arts. Eighteen district teachers and staff members received Crystal Apple awards. Libal and Wharton also received $375 awards as the overall winners.
