Loveland High School freshman Cadence Lapp, Mountain View High School freshman Jackson Shorten, and High Plains School 7th Grader Kiera Shorten competed at the USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championships in Reno, Nevada. All three achieved the designation of All American (top 25 in the country). Jackson and Cadence were the USATF State Champions in their age divisions in Denver and Kiera placed 4th. All three runners then moved on to place in the top 30 at Regionals in Phoenix, Arizona, which qualified them for the National Championships. At Nationals, Jackson placed 5th overall, Kiera placed 14th overall and Cadence placed 20th overall, making her an All American for the second time.
