Elementary Schools Receive Schools on the Move 5210 Challenge Awards

Thompson elementary schools received a total of $6,900 in prize money in the Schools on the Move 5210 Challenge, an annual program sponsored by UC Health’s Healthy Kids Club. Students, staff and families tracked activity minutes and other healthy habits throughout the challenge. The awards are to be used for physical education equipment or other school wellness initiatives. In the large school category, winners included Ponderosa, Centennial, Berthoud and Cottonwood Plains. In the small school category, winners included Laurene Edmondson, Garfield, Big Thompson, B.F. Kitchen, Carrie Martin and Ivy Stockwell. Additional awards went to B.F. Kitchen in the staff participation category and Cottonwood Plains in the family participation category.
